Project Engineer

Position

As an Engineer with KLB, you will be responsible for working with office and field management to construct some of the largest and most complex Heavy Civil construction projects within the greater Seattle/Bellevue metropolitan area. You will be an integral member of a team that coordinates with Owners, Architects, Designers, Subcontracts, and Vendors to successfully deliver projects safely and efficiently across an array of KLB’s Heavy Civl portfolio. You will learn and grow your in-field knowledge so that your problem-solving solutions come from a level of hands-on experience.

Essential Duties

  • Monitor job costs
  • Prepare progress billings and subcontractor pay estimates
  • Quantity tracking of material and completed work
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of project schedule
  • Understand, prepare, and transmit submittals on behalf of KLB and subcontractors and or suppliers
  • Maintain project files
  • Assist in coordination with subcontractors and or prime contractor
  • Maintain daily project diary
  • Assist in the procurement of project materials
  • Assist in the supervising of crews and monitor for safety on the job site
  • Prepare necessary correspondence to Owners/Primes/Subs as necessary
  • Assist with daily payroll submittals to the main office

Knowledge Of

  • Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and scheduling software systems
  • Basic English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation
  • Basic mathematical principles
  • Safe driving principles and practices

Abilities To

  • Plan and prioritize multiple tasks to adapt and adhere to schedules and deadlines
  • Work independently
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records including clear and concise reports of work completed
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from project stakeholders and KLB employees
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with project stakeholders and KLB employees

Preferred Experience

  • Degree: BA in Construction Management, BS in Engineering or Construction Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • License: Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid WA driver’s license with acceptable driving record and proof of automobile insurance
